Genie’s New Boom Lifts Offer High Utilization and Easy Maintenance

Genie has launched its latest equipment, the S-85 XC FE hybrid and S-85 XC E electric telescopic boom lifts. Integrating lithium-ion battery technology with Genie’s heavy-duty performance, these new models set a new benchmark for efficiency and operational effectiveness in the rental equipment market.

Designed to significantly enhance rental fleet utilization and improve jobsite accessibility, the S-85 XC FE and S-85 XC E promise to meet the needs of diverse industries, from construction and maintenance to energy and shipbuilding.

These advanced lifts are particularly suited for demanding environments like steel erection and bridge construction, where reliable access is crucial.

Equipped with four independent AC drive motors, 4-wheel drive and active oscillating axles, the new boom lifts can navigate challenging terrains.

The hybrid and electric drive options cater to noise-sensitive and emissions-restricted jobsites, allowing operators to work in urban or environmentally sensitive areas without compromising performance.

“These boom lifts are a complete upgrade, with thoughtful engineering and more than 80 quality improvements, with the goal of keeping our machine in the field longer with fewer service intervals,” Dominik Damm, product management of Booms said.

A standout feature of these new models is their advanced lithium-ion battery technology. The 48-volt batteries provide the smallest footprint in their class while delivering enough power for a full day of operation on a single charge.

Genie’s design not only enhances overall energy efficiency but also eliminates the maintenance hassles associated with traditional lead-acid or absorbed glass mat batteries, such as watering and frequent replacements.

These enhancements are projected to significantly lower ownership costs for rental companies and end users. With fewer service requirements and longer operational durations, these boom lifts operate more efficiently and cost-effectively throughout their lifecycle.
