JCB North America’s 15th annual golf tournament benefitting the Lady Bamford Center set a record by raising more than $200,000 to help support the center.
The tournament, held Dec. 3 at the Club at Savannah Harbor, was overwhelmingly supported by a full field of golfers and many corporate sponsors, led by Diamond Sponsors Sunbelt Rentals, Critz, and Sterling Seacrest Pritchard.
“We are grateful for a successful event and for the outstanding support of our community,” said Chris Giorgianni, vice president of government and defense product and marketing for JCB and chair of The Lady Bamford Center Board of Advisors. “The golf tournament is currently our main fundraiser. The proceeds will allow us to continue our work with children in our community.”
Giorgianni continued, “COVID-19 caused a strain on our fundraising efforts in 2020, and we were facing a large deficit, but the success of this event will help us regain our financial footing at the Lady Bamford Center. Our heartfelt thanks go out to our generous community.”
The Lady Bamford Center is a non-profit partnership between Wesley Community Center, The United Way, The City of Savannah, and JCB North America.
Providing critical resources to low-income children and their families throughout the year, the Center helps children ages six weeks to five years develop educational and social skills.
Children from homeless and low-income families receive priority admission, as well as children with physical, mental, or emotional challenges. The interactive curriculum the Lady Bamford Center provides prepares young children for kindergarten and elementary school.
