JCB has upgraded its line of rough-terrain forklifts by switching to a more efficient JCB Ecomax diesel engine that meets EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards without using a particulate filter or SCR exhaust after-treatment. The new, highly efficient engine delivers the same 74-hp output as the previous engine, but runs more cleanly and reduces operating cost and complexity.
JCB's recent upgrade to all four of its RT forklift models also includes 38% faster cycle times, and improvements the cab styling and climate-control system.
The JCB Ecomax engine used on the 926, 930, 940, and 950 RT forklifts features highly efficient combustion that reduces exhaust emissions and also uses less fuel, reducing running costs. Ultra-high fuel-injection pressures, fixed-geometry turbocharging, and cooled exhaust gas recirculation enable the JCB Ecomax engine to meet Tier 4 emission standards without a costly diesel particulate filter (DPF) or other complex after-treatment.
The JCB Ecomax engine runs on standard lubricating oils, so there is no need for expensive CJ4 oils. Service intervals remain at 500 hours, apart from an additional crankcase ventilation filter that requires a change at 1,500 hours.
The revised machines are available with a four-speed Synchro Shuttle transmission for maximum durability and ease of use. They also feature increased hydraulic flow, now 20 gpm (up from 14.5 gmp), for 38% faster lifting and lowering cycle times, increased productivity, and reduced fuel consumption.
The 926, 930, 940 and 950 models have lifting capacities from 6,000 to 10,000 lbs. and mast lifting heights from 11'10" to 22'0".
All four RT forklift models benefit from JCB’s latest corporate styling, with clear graphics and a striking appearance. New cab-mounted front and rear working lights are available, and the machines can be ordered with a canopy or with a fully glazed cab, optional integrated air conditioning, and air-suspension seat options, thereby improving the operator's environment.
The machines can be supplied with JCB’s Livelink telematics monitoring system for maximum fleet visibility and maintenance control. An optional key or keypad immobilizer adds theft protection.
