JLG Industries, Inc. has introduced an Aviation Package for its ES2646 electric-drive scissor lift, designed specifically for aircraft manufacturing and maintenance tasks.
The new package combines advanced sensor technology to enhance safety and productivity in aviation environments.
With ultrasonic detection and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) technology, the system creates comprehensive sensing coverage around the scissor lift to prevent physical contact during maintenance and assembly. The addition of a powered extension deck, sensing zones and warning indicators streamlines and secures maintenance tasks.
“The ES2646 with Aviation Package represents a significant advancement in aerial work platform safety for the aviation industry,” Bob Begley, director of product management for scissor lifts at JLG said.
“By incorporating both LiDAR and ultrasonic sensing systems, we’re providing aerospace manufacturers and maintenance providers with protection during critical operations.”

The ES2646 scissor lift offers a 26-foot platform height with a 900-pound capacity. It accommodates up to two occupants indoors and one outdoors, making it versatile for various aviation applications
With a compact 46-inch width and multiple speed settings, the lift is ideal for maneuvering in tight spaces.
