Manitou Group Showcases Electric, Hydrogen and High-Performance Equipment at bauma 2025

Manitou Group unveiled a wide range of low-emission and high-performance equipment at bauma 2025, one of the world’s largest construction trade fairs.

The showcase highlights the company’s advancements in electric and hydrogen-powered machinery, alongside new lifting technologies and attachments.

Focus on Low-Emission Solutions

Manitou introduced two new electric telehandlers — the MT 1440e and MT 1840e — powered by a 63-kilowatt (kWh) lithium-ion battery capable of operating for a full workday.

With lifting heights of 14 and 18 meters, respectively, both models offer a 4-ton load capacity and comply with low emission zone standards. The machines are equipped with a 9-kW onboard charger and are compatible with a new 30 kW fast charger, enabling a 60% charge in under an hour. European availability is expected in Q4 2025.

Manitou also revealed a second hydrogen-powered prototype, the MRT 2260 H2, a rotating telehandler with a 22-meter lift height and 6-ton capacity. It uses a hydrogen fuel cell and a range extender to power an electric battery system, designed to replace diesel-based hybrids.

New Ultra-High Rotating Telehandler

The company introduced the MRT 4070, the tallest model in its VISION+ rotating telehandler lineup. Featuring a 40-meter lift height and 7-ton capacity, this machine offers a 27-meter outreach and is powered by a 211-horsepower engine with continuously variable transmission. It includes remote control capability and simplified setup features, designed for tasks such as steel structure installation, masonry and roofing.

Updates to Vertical Mast Lifts and Attachments

Manitou updated its VJR vertical mast platform range with redesigned controls and Smartview diagnostics. These electric lifts are optimized for indoor and outdoor environments and include harness detection for safety.

The new PRGSA 750 pruning grapple saw enables safe tree pruning with a 750-millimeter cutting capacity and 360-degree rotation. Another new attachment, a tube clamp, handles cylindrical loads up to 14 tons with precision, designed for the oil and gas industry.

Charging Infrastructure and Fleet Integration

Manitou launched a 30-kW universal fast charger for use across its electric telehandler and forklift ranges. The mobile unit is compatible with off-road sites and includes slings and fork pockets for easy transport.

Prototype Honored by Deutsche Bahn

A track loader prototype for rail operations, developed with Deutsche Bahn, was also presented. It offers a low-emission alternative for underground cable construction, increasing efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

New Regional Offerings and Remanufactured Parts

In the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Manitou now offers a ULM telehandler and trailer package, providing compact mobility between jobsites.

The company’s REMAN program features over 230 certified remanufactured parts, including engines and gearboxes, promoting sustainability and cost savings through circular economy practices.

Service and Support Programs

Manitou’s Easy Care program combines telematics, extended warranties (up to six years) and financing options to enhance equipment lifecycle support. Connectivity is standard across new models, allowing real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Manitou’s presence at bauma 2025 emphasizes its ongoing investment in electrification, hydrogen technology and multi-purpose equipment to meet evolving construction, forestry, rail and industrial needs.
