Sinoboom has introduced a new range extender for its mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), receiving enthusiastic feedback during product trials. The compact, portable generator extends the operating time of electric boom lifts, reducing range anxiety on large projects and enhancing site adaptability.
The range extender, which converts electric boom lifts into hybrid models, has been praised for its adaptability, integrated modular design, high energy conversion efficiency and fast charging capabilities.
“Sinoboom is delighted at the level of positive feedback and interest in our new range extender. Its design has been highly optimized to meet customers’ expectations for adaptability and cost-effectiveness in high-reach scenarios,” Peter Peng, head of the product management department at Sinoboom, said. “Compatible electric boom lifts can be easily transformed into hybrid models with the addition of the range extender, this represents truly modular design.”
Designed for quick and easy installation, the extender can be fitted in under an hour and features simplified maintenance, storage and transportation. It is equipped with a Kubota 9.9 kW engine and a 6 kW or 8 kW permanent magnet generator, ensuring stability and high energy efficiency. The extender offers automatic and manual charging modes, with automatic charging activating when the battery drops to 30% and stopping at 80%. A fast charge to 80% can be achieved in 3.5 hours, extending operation time by up to 50 days, depending on the model and usage.
Sinoboom’s range extender is compatible with the following electric telescopic boom models: TB20EJ Plus (TB600EJ Plus), TB22EJ Plus (TB740EJ Plus), TB26EJ Plus (TB860EJ Plus) and TB28EJ Plus (TB910EJ Plus). This new product provides a cost-effective, modular solution for fleets requiring high reach but lacking consistent access to charging facilities.
