In early 2024, Skyjack announced the launch of its new micro-scissor line with the SJ3213 micro and SJ3219 micro. This new range represents a significant new choice in the low-level access arena.

The micro-scissor range remains simply reliable, combining low cost of ownership with Skyjack’s renowned product support. Fully proportional drive and lift controls offer superior drive with more efficiency, controllability and improved torque, while variable speed brushless AC electric front wheel drive provides exceptional duty cycles. With more than 25% gradeability, climbing loading ramps is easy and excellent all-round jobsite performance and maneuverability is achieved.

Features unique to Skyjack’s micro-line include:

  • Equal or lower gross vehicle weight and floor loads when compared to other micros.
  • Platform and extension deck design provides the largest platform area in micro-class.
  • Digital diagnostic display in simple language with no plug-in calibration for day-to-day troubleshooting.
  • Steel front wheel motor guards prevent protection for parts exposed on other micros.
  • Modular design of optional XStep allows assembly in minutes, stowed during driving or moved between machines.
  • Simple two-piece optional ECOTRAY, capable of containing 100% of machine’s hydraulic oil volume with no large underbody pads to worry about.

With E-Drive, Skyjack’s focus on improving productivity and reducing lifetime maintenance expenditure improves the cost of ownership and gives users more in several key ways:

·         More return on investment with maintenance free brushless AC Electric Drive motors.

·         More runtime per charge with less power consumption and lower battery maintenance.

·         More sustainability with zero leakage drive motors, for clean operation.

·         More flexibility and utilization with low gross vehicle weight (GVW) and wide non-marking tires, providing low ground pressures and helping to protect finished flooring.

·         More control with spring applied, electrically released brake.

·         Tight steering angle provides excellent jobsite maneuverability.

·         Fully proportional drive and lift controls.

·         Minimal maintenance on wheel motors.

The newest micros have been designed to fit most passenger-style elevators and work in environments where space is at a premium, while still providing a substantial work area.

Key features of the latest micro-line include:

  • 13 foot and 19-foot platform heights.
  • 500-pound platform capacity.
  • AC electric drive performance.
  • Fits through a standard door (rails up).
  • 20-inch rollout extension to increase work area and provide up and over capability.
  • Low GVW fitting into standard elevator.
  • Low floor loading.

The micro-line has been updated with its own XStep – the micro XStep enables operators to gain additional work height in tight spaces, while maximizing productivity. Like the original XStep, the micro XStep was introduced to empower operators working in hard to reach places, such as piping, ceiling work and between HVAC units. The micro-version is also mounted on the mid-rail of the scissor lift and creates an additional 19 inches of working height. The top railing design and height provide operators with the same degree of security as a conventional platform. It has been designed to pair specifically with the new micro-line, offering 250 pounds of capacity.

  • ZERO emissions.
  • 90% recyclable (by weight).
  • Optional ECOtray leak containment.
  • Approved for use with bio-degradable hydraulic oil.
  • Telematics allowing remote diagnostics reduces site visits and operational footprint.
Skyjack became an industry leader by providing machine features that combine durability, quality and serviceability, making our products world renowned for product reliability. Our team understands the importance of maximum uptime, so our equipment is designed to provide just that. All major service points are easily accessible, enabling straightforward troubleshooting and repairs. For example, SKYCODED, a proven and reliable control system, incorporates Skyjack’s color coded and numbered wiring system, making machines the easiest to trouble shoot and repair, leading to easier maintenance and lowered costs.

Skyjack has shown its commitment to the low-level access segment with the design and development of all these new two model ranges. Targeted at the North American market, the SJ3213 micro and the SJ3219 micro will replace the previous SJ3013 model in North America. The SJ3014 will remain available in Europe.
