Terex Aerial Work Platforms has launched its Genie Lift Pro online-based aerial work platform (AWP) training program in Spanish. The program that's English version launched at in February 2013 at the American Rental Association's The Rental Show, has been translated in completely including screen elements, video narrations, closed captions, quizzes, and the hosted learning management system. Additionally, all of the online training supporting documents have been translated, including the instructions on how to register students, reports, and tracking progress.
“While talking to customers about Genie Lift Pro, we realized there was a massive demand for a Spanish version in places like Mexico, California, Texas and Arizona,” said Scott Owyen, global training manager, Terex AWP. “With so many Spanish-speaking operators in the Southwest, we felt it was important to reach these end users and train them to safely operate aerial equipment in their language.”
Upon completion of the online training program and subsequent hands-on training in front of a qualified person, end-users will have met the requirements to become a qualified AWP operator, in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards.
Genie Lift Pro incorporates adult learning theory by repetition and reinforces the learning in a number of ways. The program allows end-users to train at their own pace and on their own schedule.
A 30-question exam is administered upon completion of the online training modules, and end-users are required to answer all questions correctly. If an incorrect answer is given, participants are required to return to the module and search for the correct answer, ensuring complete comprehension of the material.
The Genie Lift Pro online training program is available through authorized Genie Lift Pro Training Centers throughout North America and will be applicable for most brands, makes, and models of aerial work platforms.
