Industrial Lift & Hoist (ILH) magazine has announced plans to include a bumper preview to the inaugural MODEX show in its December issue. Product announcements, exhibit profiles and other show news should be sent to ILH associate publisher and editor Richard Howes—rhowes@maxcapmedia.com—by Monday 7 November.
MODEX 2012, is a new trade show launched by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA). The event, which will focus on material handling, distribution, and the supply chain, takes place Feb. 6-9, 2012, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. Plans are to hold the show in Atlanta until at least 2016, while ProMat, the MHIA's other show, will stay in Chicago.
ILH, which will exhibit at MODEX (booth 3526), will preview the show in its last issue of the year and publish late news in its January/February 2012 edition. Both will be onsite. "It's a new event and we're equally proud and excited to be part of it," said Howes.
MHIA had previously explained that MODEX differs from ProMat because of its emphasis on the supply chain, in addition to material handling and distribution. These three components are more integrated now than before.
"Users and distributors—our readers—need more information from exhibitors at shows like this, encouraging them to attend," said Howes. "The MHIA does a fantastic job of marketing its events but its members and exhibitors could do more. Our magazines are each sent to 23,000 readers, which is a resource all relevant exhibitors should use.
"Our preview is not only for manufacturers and equipment suppliers. Users are welcome to share opinions to challenge exhibitors to kit out their booths to best meet the material handling needs of their prospective and existing customers."
