InfoChip, Alberta, Canada, recently released IC Manufacturer, an open-source RFID solution, which allows users the flexibility of using a variety of applications to track their assets. Adding to the convenience of the product are a low-cost USB stick for collecting data and a Bluetooth display reader. The Bluetooth display reader is designed to withstand a five-foot drop. It is IP67 rated and internal components are fully sealed. Up to 2,000 scans can be made on one battery charge, which is rechargeable in the field via a mini-USB port.
