To additionally support the U.S. oil and gas market, Palfinger Marine has established an office in Houston and employed Louis LeBourgeois to cover the full range of Palfinger Marine products, including marine and offshore cranes, launch and recovery systems, and boats.
In other Palfinger Marine news, the company delivered a PK 150002 MB crane to Transocean. The crane has an outreach of 8.9 m (29 ft.) and a lifting capacity of 9.5 t (10.4 U.S. tons). Its main purpose will be general lifting and hoisting on a drillship. This is the second such crane Palfinger Marine has provided to Transocean. The PK 150002 MB comes with an external control stand and meets the latest DNV and ATEX requirements.
Earlier this year, the biggest Palfinger Marine heavy-duty foldable knuckleboom crane, the PFM 4500 ME, was delivered to Transocean Ltd., a project executed in cooperation with the UK partner Outreach Ltd.. It will be used for general lifting and hoisting, with a capacity of 20 t (22 U.S. tons) at 14 m (45'11").
