Celebrating its 30th year in business, Skyjack is launching the "30 for 30 Partners" charity company, and it is looking for 30 worthwhile projects across the world in 2015 that would benefit from the use of a Skyjack machine or, potentially, some other kind of support such as parts supplies or repairs. These machines plus the assistance would be supplied through Skyjack customers, with Skyjack covering the costs of up to $2,500 per project.
“We are grateful that our customers, communities, and the industry have supported us consistently, allowing us to get where we are today,” said Brad Boehler, president of Skyjack. “As such, we want to use the occasion to give something back. And the best way we can think to do this is via the company, the products and, most important, the customers that mean so much to us.”
Throughout the duration of 2015, we will be partnering with rental companies to donate the use of a Skyjack aerial work platform for 30 projects, assisting with either the development, restoration, or preservation in communities from around the world.Projects identified so far include:
- Skyjack is going to help maintain and refurbish machines in Australian rental company Melrose Access's fleet, and a portion of those revenues from reconditioned machines going to local charities in that area.
- In Germany, plans are underway for Skyjack to assist in the restoration of an historic building which burned down but has been used as a training center for the unemployed.
- In the U.K., Skyjack and a local rental company are cooperating on the restoration of a 1930s cinema organ.
- Also in the U.K., Skyjack and the U.K's Royal National Lifeboat institution are working together on the upkeep of a facility that repairs and maintains lifeboats in the Northeast of England. The RNLI is one of the UK's most respected charities and are staffed with volunteers who are dedicated to saving life at sea.
- In the United States, Skyjack will benefit two military charities through United Rentals to train veterans to become AWP technicians via their STEP or service to employment program, which helps military veterans transition from active duty to private sector service. Skyjack will also support ECAD (educating canines to assist with disabilities) by donating to the supply of canine help for wounded veterans.
- Skyjack will also be working with Habitat for Humanity in Birmingham, Ala., to build houses for those in need.
- In Canada, Skyjack's home country, Skyjack presented a check last week for $10,000 to the Breast Cancer Run for the Cure Charity based on its pink boom program from October 2014. The effort will continue to be supported in 2015 with sponsorship of the run and equipment donations.
