Talbert Manufacturing, Inc., Rensselaer, Ind., will show its multi-purpose 55-Ton Telescopic Trailer and SSTA (Traveling Axle) 5053 Trailer at the American Towman Expo 2011, November 17-20, in Baltimore. Talbert will share Booth #1064 with Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel, which will take delivery of the new trailers as additions to its sales and rental fleet.
The Talbert 55-Ton Hydraulic Detach Telescopic Trailer has a 20-inch loaded deck height and a telescopic deck that extends from 30 feet to 50 feet to transport large, self-supporting loads such as steel tanks and large generators. Its spread axle allows a 2 + 2; or a 3 + 1 configuration, and its tandem axle features connections for a third axle that can be flipped or removed. The unit also has a pinned and hinged gooseneck extension that can be flipped as well as connections for a fourth axle.
Targeted for heavy-duty towing and recovery, the SSTA 5053 Trailer has a 50-ton capacity, a 41’6” lower deck and 53-foot overall length. It features a 6° loading angle and a 14° dumping angle, making it suitable for loading and off-loading of non-operating equipment with lower ground clearance. The Talbert SSTA 5053 exhibited at the show will be equipped with a 20,000-pound planetary winch.
