Equipment industry veteran Kirk Zander has become the new president of Utility Truck Equipment Co. (UTEC), a distributor and installer of truck-mounted equipment headquartered in Hewitt, Texas.
Zander has purchased the portions of UTEC and its sister company, Utility Truck Equipment Manufacturing LLC (UTEM), formerly owned by their founder, Mike Hermansen. Zander now co-owns both companies with UTEM president Randy Breyer.
UTEC distributes truck-mounted equipment for the utility, construction, municipal, and military markets. One of its principal product lines is a family of truck-mounted aerial lifts designed and manufactured by its sister company, UTEM.
Other products distributed by UTEC include truck bodies, highway pressure diggers, van interiors, and an array of accessories that ranges from warning lights, toolboxes, and hose reels, to lift gates, inverters, winches, compressors, and generators. UTEC also services new and existing trucks, including complete reworking of used truck bodies and aerial devices.
Zander joins UTEC following a distinguished 12-year career at Manitou Americas, where he served as regional sales manager, field sales manager, and, most recently, director of business development and training.
