Allied Insurance Brokers, Pittsburgh, Pa., has hired Richard McElhaney as assistant vice president of safety and risk management and Bill Ferguson as a producer for the eastern United States.
McElhaney is heading Allied’s newly formed in-house safety and risk management department, which will optimize, promote, and deliver Allied’s solutions driven services. More than just insurance, the services are aimed at protecting the people, environment, and property of Allied’s niche clients, while keeping them current with all state and federal regulations through proactive safety practices and innovative tools.
McElhaney’s safety management experience dates back to 1992, when he was a site safety manger on several large construction projects across the country. His experience also includes being safety and risk management director for several large companies. Most recently, he was a senior safety consultant for Wells Service Group.
Ferguson will focus on growing and developing Allied’s East Coast mid-sized accounts in the crane, concrete pumping and equipment rental industries. His experience includes 10 years of owning a multi-location rental company, and more than 15 years working in the commercial insurance industry.
