ATI’s Reversible Mobile Crane Travels by Remote Control

Air Technical Industries (ATI), Mentor, Ohio, has introduced a reversible boom crane (RBC) with wireless remote or pendant control, designed to offer safety and flexibility in lifting, handling, and transporting heavy loads in most narrow passageways. The RBC unit can be remotely controlled for all functions, including propulsion, speed acceleration or deceleration, steering, boom lifting and lowering, telescopic boom action, cable lifting and lowering, mast rotation, powered outriggers, and any other optional attachments. The RBC is available in capacities from 1,000 to 20,000 pounds, with lifting heights to 24 feet and boom reach up to 18 feet.

The crane is battery operated in 24 or 48 volts DC, and is completely self-sufficient for quiet, clean operation with no exhaust or fumes. Built narrow to pass through regular doorways and narrow aisles, the crane reaches over, under, beyond, or into small openings, into a truck, and into furnaces or other hard-to-reach places.

The unit is engineered with bearing-equipped non-marking polyurethane wheels for smooth, quiet operation. Most functions of the crane are hydraulically operated, including as the boom lift, telescoping action, mast rotation, power steering, powered outriggers, and cable lift. The propulsion is electro-mechanically driven. The RBC is made of heavy-duty welded steel construction for tough industrial use with low maintenance and high performance.
