Makro Engenharia, a crane rental company based in Fortaleza, Brazil, has placed the largest order from Manitowoc’s Latin American factory, signing a deal for 32 Grove cranes with capacities ranging from 60 to 300 tons. Of the 32 cranes the company purchased, 16 are Grove rough-terrain cranes from the Passo Fundo factory; the other 16 are Grove all-terrain cranes.
Makro will rent the cranes to companies for a variety of applications, including mining and construction, renewable energy (wind and thermal), and oil and gas projects.
Some of the cranes will be used by Makro Wind, a division of Makro that specializes in constructing and operating wind power developments. The company already runs and maintains several wind farms
