Cattron to Showcase CattronConnect Software at AISTech

Sharpsville, Pa.-based Cattron Group International will feature its CattronConnect software, the company’s newest, most advanced service offering in St. Louis, Mo. at AISTech 2009. The software helps increase productivity, safety, and profit by allowing the user to create and manage custom reports that monitor equipment health and provide alerts before damage occurs to either machinery or personnel. The software provides real time information to maintenance and plant managers as well as to executives and operation owners.

“CattronConnect enterprise software offers customers the ability to communicate wirelessly and bi-directionally with all of their fixed or mobile assets, including cranes, locomotives, and mining equipment, on a near-real-time basis using either the IP-based cellular networks or 802.11 or both”, states Haroon Inam, vice president, global engineering. “This fleet-wide capability can be leveraged for higher value propositions such as compliance to warranty terms and conditions, predictive and scheduled condition-based maintenance, remote firmware updates reducing ‘service truck rolls,’ and enhanced safety reporting with a data-logging feature. This information and the capability of these actions are available through a user-defined customized web site.”

Cattron also will show its LRC- M1 wireless control system for EOT cranes which provides the next level of safety and reliability for demanding industrial applications. The LRC-M1 can control up to four motions with two ergonomic, multi-axis joystick controllers. The trolley/hoist selector, two aux pushbuttons, and toggles are mounted on an impact resistant Lexan housing. EOT cranes currently using remote controls can easily be standardized to the system, saving time and money. In addition, as part of the company’s new CattronControl product series, the LRC-M1 wireless system uses the company’s external TransKey RFID configuration for efficient operations, allowing facilities to minimize spares and transfer keys to other controllers which increases safety and flexibility and streamlines workflow.
