CICB Joins West Coast Training for Certification Programs

The Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB) has formed a training alliance with West Coast Training, Woodland, Wash., to bring bi-monthly scheduled NCCCO Certification Programs to the West Coast. West Coast Training will provide the training facility and the equipment for the practical exams and CICB will provide the NCCCO Preparatory Training as well as the chief examiners to facilitate the practical examinations.

The training and examination courses will begin in 2009 with the first programs scheduled for Jan. 13-17, 2009, and Jan. 27-31, 2009. During the preparatory course, CICB will prepare candidates to pass the NCCCO core exam as well as the specialty exams. Training, written and practical examinations will be available for small hydraulic fixed cab cranes, large hydraulic swing cab cranes, lattice-boom truck cranes and lattice-boom crawler cranes.

"CICB will be celebrating 40 years of providing world-class training for the crane industry in 2009,” said Craig Epperson, CEO and president of CICB, Orlando, Fla. “West Coast Training has been providing equipment training for 50 years, and with the combined years of experience, we look forward to offering an excellent training and certification solution for candidates who wish to become NCCCO-certified crane operators.”

“The success of our programs is evident in the consistently positive response our students receive from employers,” said Jeff Woolever, administrator of West Coast Training. “A certificate of training from WCT represents a solid knowledge base, hands-on experience, and the pride that comes along with being associated with an institution with a long tradition of integrity, quality training, and qualified graduates."

The NCCCO program will be offered at the West Cost Training Center, twice per month in 2009.
