Crane Hot Line Announces Third Annual Top Trainer Contest

Realizing that effective training will continue to play a critical role in the overall safety of crane and rigging operations, Crane Hot Line will recognize the industry’s top trainers in an awards program to be featured in the November 2010 issue. Trainers will be recognized for having a positive impact on students, the work environment or the industry through the use of innovative training techniques or hands-on instruction, by encouraging peer or corporate accountability, and/or through quantitative evidence that the training was successful.

The objective of the awards program is to publicly recognize both corporate and professional trainers who have excelled in their profession.

• Nominations must be made by individuals who have received training from the candidate or by the trainer’s superior.

• Trainer must be involved in crane, rigging, lifting or construction safety training.

• Trainer must have been actively engaged in training between Aug. 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010.

Submit entries to Tracy Bennett, tbennett@cranehotline.com, by August 1, 2010. Recognitions will be made in two categories. Professional trainers are those whose primary employer is a training company. Corporate trainers are those whose primary employer is a construction company, crane rental company, manufacturer, or other industry-related business. Honorees will be selected by the editorial staff in both categories. Honorees will be interviewed for a feature article to appear in the November 2010 issue of Crane Hot Line.

Award winners will be granted scholarships to be used for educational purposes. Scholarships may be used by the recipient for train-the-trainer courses or industry conference attendance or may be awarded in their name to a student of their choice for similar training or educational purposes. Crane Hot Line is seeking sponsors to help fund the scholarships. Direct inquiries to Mark Bridger at mbridger@maxcapmedia.com.
