Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) will host a construction safety workshop titled, “The Roadmap to Zero,” to share member initiatives and successes in eliminating safety incidents. The workshop, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Baton Rouge, La., will focus on how owners and contractors are approaching the issue, what they’ve learned so far, and what they plan for the future.
CURT states the purpose of the workshop is to share these initiatives and have an open discussion with all attendees on the issues and opportunities present in pursuing zero injuries. Case study presentations by CURT owners and contractors, as well as opportunities for question-and-answer, discussion and sharing, will take place. The workshop will be formatted for all attendees to actively participate in the discussion; sharing their own learnings, understanding what others have learned, and contributing to planning for possible future CURT Safety Committee initiatives.
Topics include barriers to achieving zero accidents; data collection for understanding the issues; alternate approaches being considered; and risks and concerns. The organization encourages owners and contractors knowledgeable of current industry safety practices, and their own corporate programs and results, to attend.
