Genie Opens Training Center in Oklahoma City | Construction News

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) is pleased to announce that the new Genie training center in Oklahoma City, Okla., is open and operating.

The new 18,000-sq.-ft. facility is centrally located for ease of travel from either U.S. coast. Genie will also continue to offer training at its Redmond, Wash., campus.

“It comes down to this: Properly trained technicians means greater uptime for your equipment, resulting in greater ROIC,” said Bob Bartley, director of product support, Terex AWP. “Training your team is an investment which repays in the long run, especially in the rental industry.”

The Oklahoma City facility’s amphitheater-style training room provides comfortable seating for up to 12 students. The classes are small, allowing for personal, quality, hands-on training, in which the trainer can focus attention on the student. A variety of large Genie units are available on site for classroom and hands-on technical experience.

Technicians will get in-depth knowledge of Genie control systems through activities that include reading schematics and using connection software. They will be able to proficiently calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot Genie scissor lifts, telehandlers, and boom lifts with tools such as schematics, service manuals, connection software, and tech tips.

Two three-day classes are available each month.  Classes are $500 per person, with lunch included. Students can sign up using the Oklahoma City training schedule on the Genie website: http://www.genielift.com/training/Class_signup_okc.asp.
