Houston-based Global Crane Sales has added the Zoomlion QUY350 to its line of crawler cranes. Targeted for use in use in construction, windmill erection, oil refinery and power plant work applications, the new ANSI-certified, QUY350 offers a 385-ton capacity.
The crane is equipped with 11 boom configurations and five hook blocks. Each configuration features an optimized boom design and is made of European high-strength steel for greater lifting at lighter boom weights. The main boom offers a 285-foot lift height. To allow longer reach, the luffing jib boom may be added to the main boom (light-duty configuration) to achieve a 340-foot lift height. When combined with its superlift counterweights and luffing jib, the QUY350 can reach higher than 540-feet and lift more than 16,000-pounds at maximum boom length.
The QUY350 features a 400 hp Cummins QSM11 electronic injection diesel engine and uses hydraulic and electric components including Linde pumps, PAT/Hirschmann LMI system, Pfeifer wire rope, and Rexroth drive motors. The crane incorporates a micromotion design for smooth operation, while the electronically-controlled winch motors offer variable speed control to maximize efficiency for light and heavy loads. The primary winch offers a 442.9-foot per minute lifting speed, while the secondary winch operates at 393.7-feet per minute.
The QUY350’s cab, which is equipped with a fully adjustable seat and air conditioning, can tilt upward by 20-degrees to increase operator visibility and reduce fatigue.
The crane’s safety features include a camera surveillance system that provides operator visibility of the boom and load, a wind speed indicator that alerts workers of potentially dangerous wind speeds, a dynamic center-of-gravity detection system and boom overturn protection devices. Its central digital display also unit lets operators toggle between different monitoring feeds such as engine speed, oil pressure, the hydraulic unit’s working pressure and total operation hours.
