Crane Institute Certification (CIC), Sanford, Fla., announces a growing list of government organizations and corporations, which now recognize and accept crane operator certification from CIC.
Among the government bodies are the New York City Department of Buildings, Cal/OSHA, and State of Washington OSHA. “Washington State also requires a state license to certify cranes. Construction Crane Certifiers must pass an exam developed by the State and written exams, from an accredited certification provider for the crane type(s) that the certifier/inspector will be certifying,” explained Debbie Dickinson, executive director of CIC.
The list also includes automobile manufacturer Toyota; power and energy producers American Electric Power, Southern Company, and Chevron; Taminco, a chemical producer; and large construction companies, such as Walbridge.
