IMT Unveils Its Largest Loader Crane | Construction News

Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Inc. (IMT), an Oshkosh Corporation company, has unveiled the IMT 28562, its highest-capacity hydraulic loader crane.

The new IMT 28562 loader crane offers customers another way to efficiently handle palletized materials in the building supply and construction industries.

The IMT 28562 hydraulic loader crane features the highest rating in the IMT lineup: 161,490 lb.-ft. (22.3 tm). It has a maximum lifting capacity of 5,700 lbs. (2,585 kilograms), up to 62'3" (19m) of horizontal reach and up to 71'4" (21.8m) of vertical reach. The crane can lift  2,400 lbs. (1,089 kg) at its maximum horizontal reach.

A 22-ft. (6.7-m) hydraulic out-and-down stabilizer span provides excellent stability for loading and unloading palletized goods, and a high lift-to-weight ratio allows maximum payload on the truck.

The IMT 28562 loader includes a standard RCL (rated capacity limiter) 5300 system, which blocks load-increasing functions when full capacity is reached. The loader’s standard radio remote control comes equipped with an information center that provides continuous feedback on load moment and operating conditions.

Additional features of the new IMT 28562 loader include:

• 420° rack and pinion rotation.
• A rotation system that operates in a continuous oil bath to reduce friction and enhance life.
• A standard oil cooler to extend hydraulic system longevity.
• A counterbalance valve on each cylinder to stop motion if a hose fails.

The complete lineup of IMT hydraulic loaders also includes the 16000 and 24562 models.

The IMT 16000 loader crane features maximum lifting capacity of 5,825 lbs. (2,642 kg, up to 42 ft. (12.8 m) of horizontal reach, and up to 54'1" (16.5m) of vertical reach. The 16000 offers A-frame stabilizers and top seat controls with optional radio remote control.

The IMT 24562 loader crane features maximum lifting capacity of 5,000 lbs. (2,270 kg), up to 62'3"(19 m) of horizontal reach,  and up to 71'4" (21.8 m) of vertical reach. The crane offers standard radio remote control with the information center, with manual backup controls from the top seat.
