Charles “Chuck” Richards, owner and president of Detroit Wire Rope and Splicing Co., passed away Sept. 9, 2009. He was 90.
Richards was an instrumental figure in the wire rope industry for a number of years. His company became a valued member of the Associated Wire Rope Fabricators in 1978 and Richards himself served on the Board of Directors during the formative years helping to ensure the strength and value of the organization.
In 2005, Detroit Wire Rope and Splicing became a part of Mazzella Lifting Technologies also a valued member of AWRF.
