Terex Cranes has appointed Ingo Nöske as its new director of product management for crawler cranes and Dr. Ascan Klein as its new director of competency center technology platforms.
Nöske will lead the global product management teams for the Demag and Terex crawler crane lines as they work closely with customers to ensure products are developed to meet their current and future needs. As director, Nöske will manage the development and execution of product line strategies.
Offering 20 years of crane engineering experience, Nöske returns to Terex Cranes after working with two global crane equipment manufacturers, where he has held several management positions, including managing engineering product development and, most recently, globally directing crawler crane product development. Prior to departing Terex Cranes in 2008, he worked in the Zweibrücken factory as chief engineer development and project manager lattice booms.
“Directing the global Demag and Terex crawler crane product management teams, Nöske will work in close collaboration with our competency centers to adapt global solutions to local market needs,” explained Harry Bussmann, group vice president, global engineering, product management and marketing. “With his previous global product development experience, Nöske is the right person to advance the change for Demag and Terex crawler crane product development.”
In another appointment, Terex has named Dr. Ascan Klein as the new director of competency center technology platforms.
In this newly established position, Dr. Klein’s will drive common approaches for crane equipment software, electronics, hydraulics, and load management, where technology commonality throughout the product lines will benefit Terex Cranes’ customers globally.
Dr. Klein’s deep engineering experience in the crane industry spans more than 16 years. He rejoins Terex Cranes, where he held multiple leadership positions in engineering until 2011. He has spent the last five years with a multinational crane equipment manufacturer, where he held various management positions focusing on product innovation. Most recently his management skills were put to use in a global capacity in the area of advancing excellence for control systems.
The engineering competency centers serve as cornerstones to Terex Cranes’ new and enhanced product engineering, development and management program. These centers develop common approaches to technology platforms i.e. crane controls and components, which are then leveraged by local engineering teams to address local customer feedback, improve service response time and drive new product development.
“Having these competency centers will improve our responsiveness to customers by incorporating their feedback into crane design and introducing it to the market in the same manner and more quickly,” explained Bussmann. “Dr. Klein’s broad and deep engineering experience is exactly what is necessary to successfully lead the development of our new technology competency center.”
