Miller Lifting Products, Charlton, Mass., has released the new Insu-Line Tag Line Insulator, targeted for use in power line applications. When integrated into the tag line, the insulator creates a non-conductive tag line, enhancing the safety of ground personnel handling loads in the vicinity of overhead power lines.
Adapted from distribution line insulator technology, the 2-pound tag line insulator is rated for 50 kV at a maximum current leakage of 0.05 mA, and is designed to prevent flashover in wet conditions up to 75 kV at 60 Hz.
The Insu-Line Tag Line Insulator will be available for shipment November 1.
