Mitrpak, Uxbridge, Mass., has introduced a line of totally sealed, precision right-angle gear boxes that feature robust construction and are maintenance-free for a wide range of drive requirements. The gear drives feature high-precision, hardened alloy steel spiral bevel gears in a robust aluminum alloy housing with stainless steel shaft drives and positive lip grease seals to prevent contamination. Incorporating locknuts to secure each drive, the design provides smooth, vibration-free operation with nearly zero backlash. The drives are available with single-input and single- or double-output shafts and 1:1 or 2:1 ratios.
Output shaft sizes are offered in 3/8”, ½”, 5/8“, ¾”, and 1”.
Permanently lubricated for life with Mobilux EP O, and shipped completely enclosed and sealed, the gear drives are rated in accordance with AGMA Class 1 service conditions in industrial applications (1.0 service factor). Units for food processing are available with construction and lubricants which meet FDA regulation section 121.2553 and carry the USDA “AA” rating.
