In construction news, National Interstate Insurance Co. has announced a new insurance product designed for crane, rigging, heavy haul, and specialized carriers that will roll out in December.
National Interstate will offer the traditional insurance product in all 50 states through an open retail distribution network. Coverages are tailored to meet industry needs and include auto liability, physical damage, workers' compensation, motor truck cargo, general liability, and related coverages.
"We are excited to capitalize on our established expertise in this highly specialized market by working with customers in search of a traditional insurance solution," said Shawn Los, assistant vice president at National Interstate. "By adding this option, we are able to offer a robust and innovative insurance portfolio including first-dollar, deductible and alternative risk transfer, such as our group rental captive Titan, and our single account captive program for larger customers. No matter what product a customer selects, they will have access to our dedicated and experienced service professionals. Claims are handled by in-house adjusters, and our risk management staff has extensive resources and services to help customers run the safest operation possible."
"Having entered the crane, rigging and specialized carrier market in 2006, we not only fully understand the unique needs of specialty operators, we have the financial strength and stability required in this industry," said Tony Mercurio, executive vice president and COO of National Interstate. "National Interstate is rated A (Excellent), with a positive outlook, by A.M. Best Company, and has once again been recognized by Forbes as one of its 100 Most Trustworthy Companies, receiving the highest score. We are also looking forward to providing a distribution platform that allows retail agents to work directly with us -- a partnership that has been difficult to find in this MGA driven marketplace."
National Interstate is an active member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) and has been since 2006. The company was a sponsor of the SC&RA 2013 Annual Conference held in April, and will also be exhibiting at the Crane & Rigging Workshop being held on Sept.18-20, 2013 in Orlando, Fl.
