New Crane Fits on Non-CDL Truck, has 84-ft. Tip Height | Industry News

Smiley Lifting Solutions, Phoenix, Ariz., has introduced a telescopic-boom crane that can mount on a single-axle non-CDL truck, provide an 84-ft. tip height, and lift up to 10,000.

Named the Revolution 84RM, the crane is designed to mount on the rear of a single-axle truck, such as a Ford F-650, Kenworth, Freightliner, plus many others. It weighs between 12,000 and 13,000 lbs., including the four out-and-down outriggers, so a non-CDL truck equipped with the crane still has 4,000 lbs. of payload available.

The boom is a four-section, hexagonal design that telescopes from 22.5 ft. to a maximum of 74 ft. Fully retracted, it can lift 10,000 lbs. at a 7-ft. radius.

Extended to 44 ft., its capacities range from 6,850 lbs. at a 7-ft. radius, to 4,150 lbs. at 17 ft., and 1,750 lbs. at a 40-ft. radius.

Fully extended to 74 ft., the crane can lift 3,570 lbs. at a 17-ft. radius, or 1,020 lbs. at 50 ft., and 360 lbs. at a 72.5-ft radius. With any rated load, it provides 360° continuous swing.

Two walk-through control stands enable easy access to the truck bed, and the controls are spring-centered, spool type, with a pressure relief valve. The crane comes with an overload protection system with safety shutdown.

A four-function wireless remote control and a work basket are optional.

With the crane stowed for travel, the complete truck and crane measure just 25 ft., bumper to bumper.
