DICA, Guthrie Center, Iowa, has introduced a new outrigger-stabilization system to meet the specific needs of concrete contractors.
FiberMax Dunnage pads provide a rigid foundation for outrigger-enabled equipment, including concrete-pumping equipment and mobile cranes.
“Concrete work frequently occurs in areas of disturbed, uncompacted softer ground. Our customers needed an engineered, lightweight, easy-to-handle solution that would allow them to achieve safe ground bearing pressures in these environments. FiberMax Dunnage Pads, constructed of our fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) material, are extremely rigid and durable,” said Kris Koberg, DICA CEO.
Features and Benefits
FiberMax Dunnage Pads are available in two thicknesses. A heavy-duty 0.75-in. option with a crush rating of 2,000 psi and rated capacity of 200,000 lbs., and two super-duty 1.5-in. options with a crush rating of 2,500 psi and a rated capacity of 250,000 lbs.
DICA engineered FRP FiberMax Dunnage Pads are not affected by the elements or prolonged use. They won’t rot, delaminate, rust, decompose, or absorb water. FiberMax Heavy Duty and Super Duty Dunnage pads are guaranteed unbreakable.
Concrete contractors have already taken notice. “FiberMax Dunnage Pads are bulletproof, very hard with no noticeable flex. I have zero concerns about them standing up over time due to our non-stop rain in the Pacific Northwest from November to May,” said Scott Sutherland of A.J.’s Concrete Pumping, a Vancouver, British Columbia division of Sutherland Concrete Ltd. “FiberMax Dunnage Pads have completely replaced our need to build wooden mats every 6-8 months,” he continued.
