Ontario, Calif.-based Orange Machine Corp. has brought the latest entry into the rapidly expanding North America low-level access market. Orange Machine is a newly formed company that leverages the heritage of one of the pioneers in this market segment: Johnny, Ron, Mark, and Robert Parker are the sons of industry icon John Parker. Together with their partners, Orange Machine’s management group plans to leverage nearly 200 years combined product development and support experience. “We plan to simplify the way business is done in the access industry,” said Johnny Parker. “One example is that we offer one net price for all of our machines, and the price is the same regardless of quantity."
Models ready for shipment are the single platform extension 1028SP and a dual platform deck extension 1028DP. Both offer a 10-foot platform height and narrow 28-inch width. A key feature is the utilization of Fullriver Battery’s environmentally friendly AGM, service free, deep-cycle battery technology. Ronnie Parker said that in the company's test marketing, the consistent message from many service managers was “Finally, a battery that you don’t have to service.” Other features include a very light GVW of 1,050 pounds, true pivot steering and a fully proportional drive function.
A fully equipped 1028SP will have a very aggressive initial net price of $6,988. "This pricing is made possible because of our new business model” Robert Parker said. “We can deliver such value because we are not burdened with unnecessary administrative overhead."
Plans also call for the introduction of a 6-, 8-, and 10-foot push-around scissor lift models, which also will be aggressively priced and available soon.
