PM North America, Rolling Meadows, Ill., unveiled two new knuckleboom cranes at ICUEE.
The PM 15.5 is the first in the United States. It replaces the PM 14 and offers 7% more capacity. The unit exhibited at the show featured a three-section boom and had a capacity of 2,730 lbs. at a 34’ 3” radius. With a five-section boom, the PM 15.5 can reach out 47’ 3” horizontally and pick a 1,480-lb. load. It can also raise that load to a 58’ 1” height.
ICUEE was also the North American launch for the PM 38.5 knuckleboom crane, a brand-new design that replaces the PM 40. The PM 38.5 lifts 5% more than its predecessor while weighing 1,000 lbs. less, fitting into a more compact space, and having a shorter tailswing. The PM 38.5 crane exhibited at ICUEE had a 5-section boom and could lift 4,155 lbs. at a 48’ 7” radius and raise that load to a height of 60’ 3”. With an 8-section boom, the crane can pick up 2,160 lbs. at a 71’ 1” radius and raise that load to a height of 82’0”. The new backlit control station is easier to read, and the crane features PM’s type-three stabilizers.
