The CSA Group has opened the public comment period for its proposed new B354 standards that will guide design and use of mobile aerial work platforms in Canada. The public can review and comment until October 5, 2015.
The proposed new B354 standards have a very different format than the existing ones, which have guided the Canadian aerial industry for years.
The new standards for MEWPs are divided into: B354.7 design, calculations, safety requirements, and testing methods; B354.8 safety, inspection, maintenance, and operation; and B354.9 driver training.
