PowerGen 2013 was held in Orlando, Fla. in November. The PowerGen show is a technically comprehensive event covering every aspect of the power generation industry encompassing five separate events to form Power Generation Week: POWER-GEN International, NUCLEAR POWER International, Renewable Energy World Conference & Expo North America, POWER-GEN International Financial Forum and GenForum converge in 2014. It is five days packed with pre-conference workshops, technical tours, more than 70 conference sessions, panel discussions, three exhibition days, and multiple networking events.
2013 saw record-setting attendance of more than 22,000 attendees, representing 90 countries, with 1,400 exhibitors. The Scaffold and Access Industry Association (SAIA) was well represented among both the exhibitors and attendees including: Century Elevators, PCI, Brand Services, Safway, Fraco Products, Spider, Geda USA, and PowerClimber.
SAIA member PCI launched a newly redesigned material hoist for use in a boiler during a shut down. This product is manufactured by GEDA, GmbH in Bavaria, Germany and can collapse to fit through an 18 in. boiler opening; it is utilized to build scaffolding inside the boiler.
Markus Haschner of GEDA GmbH, stated,“Working with PCI to redevelop this unique product has been a great experience, we look forward to the continued cooperation”. The new boiler hoist is available through GEDA’s North American distributors Century Elevators and GEDA, USA.
PowerGen 2014 will be held in Orlando, Fla. in December.
