Sany Completes Phase One of Peachtree City Facility

Sany America, Peachtree City, Ga., has completed Phase One of construction of the company's assembly facility less than a year since breaking ground for the project.

A ceremony marking this milestone will be held Feb. 28, at the Peachtree City facility. Sany America is the first U.S. branch of Sany Group Co. Ltd., headquartered in Hunan Province, China.

Officials from both state and local governments, as well as high-ranking Chinese representatives, will participate in the ceremony, including Nathan Deal, governor of Georgia, and Don Haddix, mayor of Peachtree City.  The Chinese officials will include Qiang Zhou, governor of Hunan Province; and Wengen Liang, chairman of Sany Group. Yanping Gao, consul general of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston, Texas, will also participate as keynote speaker. Other officials from Hunan Province will also be in attendance.

“The completion of Sany America’s facility signifies a new milestone in Sany’s globalization initiative,” said Wengen Liang, chairman of Sany Group. “This will bring Sany’s philosophy of 'Quality Changes the World' to the next level. The new facility will enable the company to provide the North American market and the other global customers with superior products and services.”

Phase One construction of the 420,000-square foot facility began in June 2010 and officials estimate a total investment to-date of $60 million. Sany America currently employs 108 people and expects to double its staff by the end of 2012.

The Peachtree City facility will eventually include provisions for assembly of five different types of construction machinery, including the Sany Global rough-terrain crane. It is the first North American-specific product developed through a collaborative design effort between parent company the Sany Group and Sany North America.

Besides the RT cranes, the Peachtree City facility will also assemble crawler cranes, excavators, motor graders, concrete pump trucks, and house R&D, sales, service, and distribution operations.

Sany officials say plans call for assembly and production to begin later this year.
