Spider, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, has sold nearly 200 ft. of SpiderRail temporary guardrails as well as customized counterweights to an aircraft manufacturing plant in Everett, Washington. The perimeter edges of the rooftop at this 125-ft. facility required a temporary, portable guardrail system with built-in toeboards to protect workers from potential fall hazards. The SpiderRail system, which exceeds OSHA’s fall protection requirements, was easily and efficiently assembled and installed without damaging the delicate hybrid rooftop. The sections can also be easily repositioned and stored as needed.
In addition, Spider customized its standard 50-lb. counterweight to meet the customer’s corporate maximum lifting capacity of 40 lb. The custom design also included the addition of handles and standard dimensions to make transporting and storing these 58 counterweights easier and more cost-effective.
