Viant Crane, Superior, Wis., has expanded its crane fleet to serve the industrial, energy, and construction markets throughout the Midwest.
A subsidiary of Reuben Johnson & Son Inc., the company started as a small crane rental business in 2007, but recently added 10 Grove RT cranes rated from 30- to 90-tons, six Manitowoc crawler cranes from 100- to 300-tons capacity, and two Grove truck cranes. The majority of the fleet is less than five years old.
According to David Lemke, vice president, the timing was right for making the company a full-service crane rental business. “The first quarter of 2011 was the busiest ever,” said Lemke. “We’re looking forward to continued growth.”
He continued: “With mines on the Iron Range rebounding, strong new construction and maintenance projects throughout the upper Midwest, plus wind projects and refinery work, there’s a tremendous need. We are geographically closer than many competitors, able to respond quickly, competitively priced, and equipped to provide the most current crane technology available.”
In related news, the company announces that Nick Minardi has joined Viant Crane as operations manager.
